First Fridays in downtown Racine tomorrow night

Tomorrow night from 6 to 9pm First Fridays will be returning to downtown Racine.

The outdoor musical highlights for First Friday June 4th include The Jim Yorgan Trio at Main Street’s Crosswalk Park, Guitarist Mike DeRose on Sixth Street and Singer/Guitarist Serita Cheeks on Wisconsin Avenue (near Hot Shop Glass and DP Wigley). Music is also featured at Molly Magruder, Dimples, Northern Lights, Moxie Child, Inside Out, and Shilling’s Irish Pub.

Molly Magruder will have The Fourcast performing from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Barkley from Central Bark Doggy Day Care will also be there.

Macyn Taylor will be performing at Northwen Lights Gallery.

You can win 25 percent off a new tie at Copacetic’s by entering the ugliest tie contest.

Art Metals Studio will be offering people the chance to win a Christopher Sklba-designed titanium ring.

From 8:30 to 12:30 Saturday morning at Henry & Wanda’s The Mike Murphy Trio will be performing.

Complimentary wine tasting will be taking place at Uncorkt from 6 to 8.

Dimples Fine Imports will be featuring guitarist and singer Katie Lafond from 6-8:30.

Artists Gallery will be holding a reception from 6-9 p.m. for Ed Janecek.

Racine Art Mumseum will behaving free admission and extended hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., artists Jennifer Angus and JoAnna Poehlmann will lead a tour behind-the-scenes of the “All the Buzz: Insects Invade RAM” exhibit. Additionally, individuals may also create artwork inspired by “All the Buzz” from 4 – 8 p.m.

Plumb Gold Ltd. will have several pearls on display.

DP Wigley/Hop to it! will be having homemade beer and wine tastings 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Fired Up! will have a workshop for children who are 7 or older, for $20, which will show a spatter techniquw on a huge butterfly bank from 6 to 8:30.

There will be glassblowing demonstrations from 6:30 to 8:30 at Hot Shop Glass.

Moxie Child will have music by “2 boys on 6th.”

Photographic Design Studio and Gallery will feature a new exhibit of images by Carol Hansen and Brad Jaeck, as well as a reception for the artists which will take place between from 6 to 9 at night.

Nightwing will be playing at Evelyn’s Club Main from 8 to 10.

Inside-Out will have a band in front of the store.

Dunn Bros Coffee will be offering visitors a free 6 oz. cup of Dominican Gold coffee and a free one-pot sample to brew at home (whole bean or ground).

The cost of the workshop is $20, kids 7 & up may attend while their parents enjoy all the activities Downtown First Friday’s has, or stay and make it a family event.
•Henry and Wanda’s, 501 Sixth Street, Stop by for a unique dinner and stay for one of our most requested dance bands . . . The Mike Murphy Trio, 8:30 PM-12:30 AM.
•Artists Gallery, Racine’s artist cooperative, 401 Main Street,features an opening reception from 6-9pm for Ed Janecek, a metal sculptor who creates pieces from found objects (in many cases), for inside the home as well as sculptural works for gardens. Activities, food and refreshments will be served as well as an opportunity to meet with the artist.

•Uncorkt, 240 Main Street, features complimentary wine tasting from 6-8 PM. This month, we are hosting Beth with Purple Feet Wine Co.
•Moxie Child, 304 Sixth Street, will have music by “2 boys on 6th” in front of moxie child. Also 10% off purchase of regular priced merchandise First Friday weekend.
•Evelyn’s Club Main, 331 Main Street, features Racine’s Nightwing, performing from 8-10pm.
•Northern Lights Gallery, 423 Main Street, the ever popular Acoustic Guitarist, Macyn Taylor, will be performing. While at the gallery, take a look at all the new inventory from Eco Friendly Totes, Pouchies, Summer Designer Scarves and much more.
