The following is a press release from the Milwaukee Brewers.

All 3,000 slots claimed for 12th annual event

For a third year in a row, the annual Brewers Community Foundation 5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk has sold out, this time, a full month before it is scheduled to occur. 3,000 runners and walkers have claimed all available slots in the 12th annual race, which will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 9:00am. Fans began asking for entry forms a month before Opening Day and the last slots were filled on June 22nd.
The unique feature of this event is that participants actually get to test their skills against the World Famous Klement’s Racing Sausages, who also run the course. The race begins at the Klement’s Sausage Haus when the Bratwurst, Hot Dog, Chorizo, Italian and Polish Sausages join the crowd on the course, which then winds through Miller Park. The annual run/walk supports the programs of Brewers Community Foundation, the charitable arm of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club.

Davey Nelson, Milwaukee Brewers Television Announcer, is the Celebrity Starter for the Run/Walk and the emcee for the post-race trophy presentation.

In addition to enjoying a course that makes its way through the warning track of Miller Park, participants in the Run/Walk receive a collectible T-shirt, a Klement’s Hot Dog, a bottle of Aquafina and a voucher redeemable for one of eight Brewers games at Miller Park during the 2010 Season. The overall top male and top female finishers receive a year’s worth of Klement’s meat products.

Sponsors of this year’s Run/Walk are Aquafina, Brewers.com, 2-Story Creative, Klement’s, Olympus Flag & Banner, Prime Time Timing Services and SportService.
